The Cherokee County Board of Commissioners has declared a burn ban for Cherokee County. According to this ban, it is unlawful for any person to set fire to any forest, grass, range, crop or other wildlands, or to build a campfire or bonfire, or to burn trash or other material that may cause a forest, grass, range, crop, or other wildlands fire. Visitors to public access areas and other campsites along the river will not be allowed to set campfires. They may grill with charcoal in the provided grills. Visitors are encouraged to contact their local fire department with any questions regarding this ban.
