The 2007 Illinois River Fest was the OSRC’s first river festival in several years and was a great
success, thanks to the generous donations of time, energy, and financial support from numerous participants and sponsors. Over 700 people came out to enjoy the festival and the

Festival Booths
The river festival had 20 booths filled with fun and educational activities for all ages, on
topics ranging from environmental conservation to outdoor recreation. There was also an
assortment of food, supplied by three non-profit groups and one commercial vendor.

Music Stage
Three different musical groups entertained the crowd throughout the afternoon, playing a
wide variety of music. The show began with several musicians from the “Songs for the
Illinois River” cd, followed by the acoustic harmonies of Barton & Sweeney Trio, and ended
with Red Eye Gravy’s country/punk blend.

OK Conservation Commission River Walk
Ben Berry, Water Quality Specialist with the OK Conservation Commission, took participants
on a “river walk” to get a closer look at the critters in our river.
